This is a recording of a conversation I had with with the story team at Here in August 2017.

We talked about the work I’ve been leading around self referral to physiotherapy services in central Sussex. This is already available in Horsham and Crawley and the ambition is to eventually offer it to people across the region. It’s part of the work going on in Sussex MSK Partnership to increase access to high quality care.

Self referral – rather than going through a GP – is a big change for patients and clinicians across the healthcare system. But I feel that the benefits are significant – and I feel positive about the potential for the future.

If you’d like to find out more about the ongoing assessment of the impact of self referral to physiotherapy services in Sussex, please get in touch with me by emailing us at info@hereweare.org.uk.

If you’d like to find out more about referring yourself to physiotherapy, there’s more information on the Sussex MSK Partnership website.
